Dutch Bros Dairy-Free Menu Guide with Custom Order Options

Updated February 2025! What started as a push-cart business by the railroad tracks in Grants Pass, Oregon is now a publicly traded drive-thru coffee empire with around 900 locations in the U.S. Dutch Bros popularity propelled based on the convenience of their shops and flexible menu of drinks that offers customers unlimited possibilities. You can tweak the flavor, sweetness, strength, and creaminess to taste. And these days, the customizations extend to dairy-free customers with this whole menu of milk alternatives, syrups, sauces, and toppings.

This menu guide includes dairy-free menu options first, followed by custom order components. Be aware of special order requirements in parentheses () next to the menu items, and see the Heads Up notes to help fill in the blanks. Please note that this guide is for the U.S. locations. Options may vary in other countries.

Other Allergen & Dietary Notes: According to the company, all items listed below are also vegan by ingredients. All items listed below are also made without eggs, nuts, soy, and wheat, unless otherwise noted.

Dairy-Free Milk Alternatives: Almond Milk (contains nuts), Coconut Milk (contains coconut), Oat Milk

Heads Up! The Mocha drinks at Dutch Bros are made with a pre-blended chocolate milk. However, you can order a dairy-fee latte with one of their chocolate syrups or dairy-free chocolate sauce added for a build-your-own vegan mocha. The Protein Coffees cannot be ordered without milk. Their seasonal Pumpkin Breve is loaded with dairy, but you can custom order a latte with sugar-free pumpkin pie syrup and dairy-free milk (see the syrup section below).

Heads Up! We’ve been told the cereal flavored milk drinks and seasonal mochas cannot be easily or tastefully made without milk. Their flavored milks are typically pre-blended, they use white chocolate sauce in the cereal-inspired drinks (which contains dairy), and the soft top contains milk.

Dairy-Free Milk Alternatives: Almond Milk, Coconut Milk, Oat Milk

Heads Up! The Golden Eagle and White Chocolate Chai Lattes are made with caramel and white chocolate sauces, respectively, and half and half (breve). You can substitute the corresponding syrups for the sauces (if your location offers the syrups) and dairy-free milk alternative for the half and half, if desired.

Heads Up! Their Hot Cocoas are all made with a Dutch chocolate blend milk that contains dairy, so they can’t be ordered dairy free. However, Dutch Bros does have Torani Dark Chocolate Sauce available, so you might be able to build-your-own hot cocoa.

Heads Up! All of the Shakes and Freezes at Dutch Bros contain milk. The Freeze Mix contains milk and can’t be substituted. The White Chocolate Sauce at Dutch Bros does contain milk, but you can substitute White Chocolate Syrup if your location offers it. The regional OG Dr. Dutch has dairy-based sweet cream added.

Heads Up! The Soft Top and Whip do contain dairy and the do not have vegan alternatives for these.

Heads Up! The White Chocolate Sauces, Caramel Sauces, and Pumpkin Pie Sauce at Dutch Bros do contain milk. However, their Caramel Syrups and White Chocolate Syrups do not contain milk (where available). See the Syrups lists below.

Heads Up! Dutch Bros uses Torani Syrups which are mostly dairy free.

Heads Up! For sugar-free needs, Dutch Bros uses Torani Zero Sugar Syrups which were all dairy-free on our latest update.

Heads Up! At this time, all of the Dutch Bros food items contain milk, including the Granola Bar and all Muffin Tops.

Hi, I have been ordering a Carmel syrup latte at Dutch bros thinking it was dairy free because of this post. After a rather confusing time this morning I found out they don’t use just a syrup, only caramel sauce. Can you fact check and then remove caramel from the list of dairy free syrups? Thanks

Response from Go Dairy Free

We did check with corporate, and they do indeed source caramel syrups, which are Torani, and dairy free. But each location doesn’t source all of the syrups listed. Some might opt to order only caramel sauces and not caramel syrups. As noted, the caramel sauce does contain milk. However, if your location has either of caramel syrups available (we’ve been to ones that do!) then those are made without milk. I hope that helps!

Very educational
